I am thinking about gettng a ferret but I do not know if this type of pet would be compatible with my kids. My kids are seven and nine. I was just wondering if it would be adviseable.

My aunt had a ferret for a few years. It was her daughter's ferret. Even though I am a great animal lover, I never held the pet because he was so excitable. He also bit when excited. I am not sure if it was just this ferret or if all ferrets are so excitable. You might need to do more research to see if a ferret is a good choice for your young kids.

My niece has a ferret and it can be a bit tempermental. At your kids' age, it may not be such a good idea, as they require a bit of care and your children may not yet be ready for the responsibility.

I have been reading some articles and I think that I will wait on the ferret. It seems you need to be more careful with the care and handling than I originally thought, and i do not believe the kids are quite ready for it.

I think ferrets are interesting. I just wouldn't have one. You do have to be careful with their temperament.
